What is Polish Work Permit?
A Polish work permit, also known as a "work permit for a foreigner" (zezwolenie na pracę dla cudzoziemca in Polish), is a document that allows a non-EU citizen to work legally in Poland. It's issued by the Polish authorities and confirms that the foreigner has the right to work in Poland for a specific period.
To obtain a Polish work permit, the employer must apply on behalf of the foreign employee and demonstrate that:
1. The job cannot be filled by an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen or a Polish resident.
2. The foreigner has the necessary qualifications and experience for the job.
3. The foreigner will be paid a salary comparable to Polish standards.
There are several types of work permits in Poland, including:
1. Type A: for foreigners working in Poland for more than 6 months.
2. Type B: for foreigners working in Poland for up to 6 months.
3. Type C: for foreigners working in Poland as part of an intra-company transfer.
4. Type D: for foreigners working in Poland as part of a contract between a Polish and foreign employer.
The work permit is usually valid for a specific period, typically up to 3 years, and can be renewed.
